Creation’s Groans and the Saints’ Sighs
Spurgeon certainly had a knack for writing incredible titles for his sermons. This is a sermon that is included in the book We Shall See God that I am giving away on my blog. I love Spurgeon and his writings on creation and how it communicates things about God. Being an outdoors guy, this particular sermon really speaks to me.
“The whole creation is fair and beautiful even in its present condition. I have no sort of sympathy with those who cannot enjoy the beauties of nature. Climbing the lofty alps, wandering through the charming valley, skimming the blue sea, or traversing the lush green forest, we have felt that this world, however desecrated by sin, was evidently built to be a temple of God, and the grandeur and the glory of it plainly declare that ‘the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof’”.
I wish I could write like Spurgeon! I know and understand and see the things that Spurgeon sees in creation, but being able to articulate it as he can is something high above me. Its a gift God has not given me. That said, enter your email below and be entered to win the book that this sermon is from!
